Well, it's been a wonderfully bright and sunny weekend here but really just not warm enough to get my kit off even in my little sun trap in the back garden. I was hoping it would be but there you are. My neighbour's fence remains unrepaired and so there is a six-foot gap through which he and his family could see me. I'm not overly concerned as they have already been told I'm a naturist and use my garden nude. I suppose it would be interesting to see if there was any response if they did see me nude sunbathing. I suspect not and so that will make my garden much more usable this year. And I also believe that he'll get his fence sorted soon after they see me for the first time.

Gilkicker
There was a time when, after work on a warm summer's day, I would skip the gym and go for a nice swim at South Hants to unwind, nude, in a warm pool and a laze in the late afternoon sun. Since the pikey owners have got all prim and made people wear clothes there I will have to make other arrangements. I quite like the idea of a swim at the beach at Gilkicker. This is just a mile from work and already has a tradition of nude bathing. Perhaps I can do my bit to reinforce that whilst still getting my nude recreation. At the moment it is February but in a few months it should be clement enough to make a start. Roll on summer.

Wet 'n' windy
What wet and windy weather we are having at the moment. I know, it's only January so what should I expect. Well, in the past few years I've had my first sun-bathe of the year by now. Yes, this is England, but where are those bright, sunny days where, in a sheltered spot, I can get my kit off for a while and enjoy the winter sun. Even when the temperature is only in single figures it is surprising just how pleasant it can be sitting in the sun without clothes.

Consideration
Down at Portsmouth we are campaigning to keep some beach for naturist use and we may not be receiving the consideration that we should. I feel that as naturists we are a significant minority in the city and that our needs should be catered for as surely as any other minority. Other sections of society such as the disabled, religious, ethnic, gay, elderly etc. not only have officialdom looking out for their welfare but actually have laws making discrimination against them illegal. I think we should have a slice of the action.
Perhaps, just perhaps, not only should we be seeking the acceptance to be nude on the beach but asking for a properly funded meeting place so that our lifestyle is not restricted to the summer months on the beach. Tell me that other minority groups do not get this consideration. The council would be obliged (under the Freedom of Information Act if necessary) to tell us what provision of this nature they already make for other groups.
Just a small hand grenade to start the new year!

More 2007 Resolutions
Ah, yes, as Mike has pointed out there's the Eden Project in June this year. I realised I'd forgotten to put it in after I'd posted so I'll say it now Attend the Eden Project. For those who may not be aware, The Eden Project in Cornwall is to throw open its doors as a clothes optional event on the evening of Saturday, 23 June, 2007 from 7 to 11 p.m. This is the first time that this has happened and, it is to be hoped, the start of industry's acceptance of the 'buff pound'. As there is a fair distance for many people to travel this event is to be rolled into another program of naturist events so far termed as 'Nudefest' so that there is more reason to attend. It promises to be a very good weekend.

New Year Resolutions 2007
It's that time of year again when New Year resolutions are due. This is when we promise ourselves, or others, that we will do certain things in the coming year. I did this for 2006 and am pleased to say that out of five resolutions I carried out 4 1/2 of them. The 1/2 was because I resolved to join SOC and go for nude walks. In the end I did the nude walk with the Eastney Beach group. So for 2007 I resolve to do much to same again and 1. Spend as much time nude as possible. 2. Remain a member of BN as I think there are signs of improvement there now. 3. To join SOC and go for some long walks nude. 4. To visit Abbey House Gardens again this year as it is one of THE nudist places to go. 5. To take part in the World Naked Bike Ride in London for the third year. 6. Continue the campaign to retain naturist use of the beach at Eastney. There, that lot shouldn't be too difficult as it is all so enjoyable!

The final nail
Elsewhere in this blog I have talked about the decline at South Hants Country Club, my local naturist club. Having lost many of its members due to the massive increase in fees it has now announced that from January 2007 it will become a clothed environment. As there are quite a few people whose memberships are still current I presume that they will be pursuing rebates as the club has substantially changed in nature and not worth attending if you can't strip off. It's the poor sods who paid tens of thousands of pounds for their homes there that I feel sorry for. They now stand to lose most of the value of their holiday homes if they no longer want to stay at a textile site. The pikeys who now own the place - JDR Partnership - are clearly a bunch of scum.
